A venue finder for everyone
OhioVenues.com does not take a position on the speaker, candidate, organization or cause when helping locate a potential venue for a lawful event. We evaluate the practical fit: attendance, location, date, required facilities, accessibility, safety and the operator’s published rental process. Venue owners remain free to apply their own lawful policies.
Do not confuse public access with unrestricted private rental
A public building may allow permitted special events without allowing every kind of political rally or fundraising activity. The Ohio Statehouse, for example, has a formal application, fee and approval process administered by the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board. Its published scheduling policy sets event hours and operational conditions.
A real path for campaign events
Ohio State University publishes a protocol recognizing that candidates, campaigns and political organizations may rent space on campus, subject to applicable rules and coordination with university offices. That is a policy framework, not a guarantee that a particular room or event will be approved.
Information venues need up front
Share the exact organizer, event purpose, anticipated audience size, ticketing and press plans, public/private access needs, A/V requirements, alcohol/catering plans and proposed security arrangements. If there is a significant public-safety question, ask how event security is coordinated rather than expecting any venue to solve it after a deposit.
Safety and equal treatment
Clear, viewpoint-neutral inquiry procedures are better than ambiguous promises. We do not describe an individual venue as willing to host controversial speakers without direct confirmation. Organizers should review cancellation, insurance, indemnity, security and protest-access terms in writing. No venue has agreed to serve as a political partner merely by appearing in a directory.
